KBOO’s Labor Radio interviewed me about the history of police unions, and the Portland Police Association in particular. In the background is a bid by the PPA to join the Central Labor Council. You can see why they would want in: The labor movement is more popular than it has been in half a century, while the PPA is widely reviled. In 2020, their headquarters were set on fire so often it eventually forced them to relocate to the suburbs.
